Jacksonville – South Georgia Equine Rescue was established to help horses in need of a place to heal, but over time it has grown for many different species to find a safe haven. Dogs and puppies have been the rescue’s biggest in take in the last five years, and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. South Georgia Equine Rescue provides a loving environment where the animals are free to be themselves while healing their physical and mental wounds that have been inflicted by humans that have failed them. The rescue survives off donations, a few grants, and even fewer fundraisers to keep the bellies full and the lights on. The animal overpopulation continues to grow due to lack of education on spaying and neutering of pets as well as back yard breeders selling puppies for profit. www.equineremedy.com
