JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Clara White Mission is hosting a cleanup at Pinehurst Cemetery and celebrating the birthday of Dr. Eartha M.M. White on Saturday.
The veteran cemetery cleanup and flag placement ceremony is in honor of a pre-kick-off of Veterans Day and the birthday of Dr. White, who was a lifelong veterans advocate.

The event will bring together volunteers, veterans, civic groups, and community members to honor those who served by cleaning headstones, removing debris, and placing over 200 American flags at gravesites.
The event is organized in collaboration with Clara White Mission, the Jacksonville Veterans Treatment Court (VTC), the Jacksonville Bar Association, and the City of Jacksonville.
The clean-up and flag placement will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Volunteers should arrive at Pinehurst Cemetery by 8:45 a.m.
The veterans memorial and Dr. White’s birthday celebration will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Parking will be available inside the cemetery.
Cleaning supplies and flags will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves and small cleaning tools.
