Drought persists amid warming trend and sunny forecast

Our dry spell continues as temperatures climb to above seasonal norms tomorrow and through the weekend.

There isn’t any rain in sight, which will worsen the drought for areas west of Highway 301 to I-75.

Rip current risks will increase tomorrow as the wind turns onshore before returning to an offshore pattern this weekend.

The warming trend has begun with sunny skies and above seasonal average temperatures. The onshore winds return Friday before switching to an offshore pattern this weekend. The dry spell continues as well with drought conditions and parched pastures from Highway 301 to I-75 and the Suwannee Valley.

Flip flops and warm sun rays will shine on Friday with mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures on Saturday and Sunday. The wind will increase from the southwest on Sunday to around 10-15 mph.

Tonight: Clear and cool with patchy fog.

Friday: Clear and cool early with sunny skies and warm afternoon highs as the northeasterly wind returns. Morning lows in the 40s and 50s. Sunny skies and afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Wind: NE 5 -10 mph. Clear skies and cool temperatures overnight with patchy fog late.

Weekend: Mostly sunny skies with warmer afternoon highs. Upper 70s to low 80s with a breezy southwest wind on Sunday.
