JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As winds continue to blow in from the south, bringing warm, moist temperatures on Sunday, sinking in from the northwest is a cold front that will turn our temperatures upside-down.
We’ve been talking about these roller coaster changes in our weather all weekend long, and we’re almost there! From 80s to 50s in a day.
Sunday will be another day in the low 80s ahead of an approaching cold front from the northwest. This cold front will impact our afternoon first with scattered showers and the possibility of strong thunderstorms, then with chilly air sinking in overnight.
Monday temperatures will struggle to move out of the mid-to-upper 50s throughout the day. But it’s the Tuesday morning temperatures we need to be focusing on.
The chilly winds and gusts in the mid-20 mph range out of the northwest will provide an added layer of discomfort with wind chill (feels-like) temperatures in the mid-20s! The National Weather Service will be monitoring these conditions closely and could issue a Cold Weather Advisory if the wind chill drops below 25 degrees.
If you’re cold, so are your pets. Highs are expected to remain in the mid-50s.
**The record low maximum temperature on Tuesday, November 11, at JAX was 53 degrees in 1917. The forecast high is 58 degrees.
**The record low temperature on Tuesday, November 11, at JAX was 35 degrees in 1977. The forecast low is 32 degrees.
Winds calm down Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but the lingering cold air will allow frosty conditions to develop mostly along I-95 north of downtown.
