Cool start gives way to warming trend across Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Today’s weather in Jacksonville is truly something special. I’m seeing another beautiful day ahead, as temperatures are set to hit 71 degrees by 3 p.m.

We started off cooler this morning — only 44 degrees here in Jacksonville, compared to about 54 degrees at this same time yesterday. Across the board, spots like Macclenny dropped to 37 degrees, and it was in the 50s on the coast.

This is your last day below average for a while! The average high for this time of year is 76 degrees, and we’re expected to move well above that starting tomorrow.

Looking ahead, you can count on this warm-up: highs are forecast to reach 80 degrees on Wednesday, dip just a bit to 79 on Thursday, then back into the low 80s through the weekend.

Tidal flooding expected to begin today

As gorgeous as the forecast looks, some of you might have to watch out for tidal flooding starting today. If you live in an area affected by high tides, keep an eye on those local water levels.

Cool air, patchy fog around Northeast Florida

A few spots dealt with chilly air and patchy fog this morning as well. It’s nothing widespread, but areas like Lake City have seen a little bit of fog.

Visibility will improve as we head through the morning, so don’t expect major delays—but if you’re up early or taking the kids to the bus stop, just take it easy!

If you’re out enjoying the warm-up or spot any tidal flooding, send your best photos through SnapJAX for a chance to see them on air!
