Sunshine and cooler temps before warm, dry weekend ahead for Jacksonville

High-pressure systems keeping things dry and comfortable

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Let me start by saying it’s a great week to be outside. We’re enjoying a dry spell and a cooler pattern across Jacksonville and nearby areas.

It feels really comfortable when you step outside, especially compared to those downright cold mornings we had last week.

Right now, we’ve got 54 degrees in Jacksonville, 60 on the coast, and up in Georgia, folks are seeing temperatures in the 40s. Wind is barely making a ripple, with speeds in the lower range—it’s just enough to remind you it’s fall in Florida.

If you’re sending the kids out early, a light layer won’t hurt, especially north of the state line, but they’ll probably shed it by afternoon.

Don’t worry about rain. Our Exact Track 4D radar is showing clear skies, and there’s no sign of moisture moving in anytime soon.

Whether you’re heading out for a walk, taking in a sporting event, or just want to soak up the sun, you’re set up for a good week.

Looking at how the day unfolds: expect 50s around 6 a.m., 64 degrees by 10 a.m., and we’ll climb into the low 70s by the lunch hour.

Areas from Fernandina Beach to Ponte Vedra Beach stick close to 68 degrees, with places like Palatka reaching 72. Macclenny and St. Augustine are hovering right around 69. No complaints in the weather department!

Warmer weekend weather

If you’re like me, you want to know how your weekend shapes up.

Here’s some good news: we’re expecting highs to hit 80 degrees by Saturday, and Sunday is likely to stay really close to that, around 78 degrees.

There will be plenty of sunshine, and it’s looking perfect for a beach day, family outings, or just relaxing outdoors.

The warm-up continues through the work week, with highs moving from the low 70s to the upper 70s and even low 80s by Friday and Saturday.

High-pressure in control

Ever wonder why things feel so pleasant right now? We’ve got two areas of high pressure working for us: one sliding down from the northwest and another pushing in from the west.

These systems are keeping all that Gulf moisture far away from Northeast Florida, acting like a shield to give us clear skies and dry conditions.

That means you don’t have to worry about rain putting a damper on your plans.

It’s a fantastic stretch of weather through this week, so get outdoors and enjoy everything our spot on the map has to offer—this is why we live in Florida!
