JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The day started with misty conditions and some fog. Highs today will reach the lower 70s, about 5 to 6 degrees below normal for late October.
Thick clouds will dominate the sky, allowing only occasional peeks of sunshine. There is a slight chance of rain, but most areas will remain dry.
Windy conditions will persist, maintaining a high risk of rip currents along the coast. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for areas along the river during high tide.
The next cold front is expected to arrive on Wednesday, but it is forecast to stay mostly dry. Cooler temperatures will follow behind this system.
High rip current risk continues until early Thursday morning along our coastline from Glynn County, Georgia, through Flagler County, Florida. A Coastal Flood Advisory is also in effect until Thursday morning and will likely be extended as the Full Moon nears on November 5.
