The northeast winds will increase Thursday and Friday, bringing Coastal Flooding at times of high tide from the beaches to the River Basin.
Tonight: Cloudy and windy with a 50 percent chance of showers through around 5 p.m. Rain chances drop to around 20 percent through game time and overnight.
Thursday and Friday: Windy weather returns with rounds of rain expected each day. The nor’easter will bring sustained winds in the 20 mph range with gusts in the 30s. Afternoon highs will trend near normal on Thursday and then a little cooler on Friday.
Minor Tidal Flooding Continues within the St. Johns River Basin and along the coast through Wednesday Evening. A significant Coastal and tidal flood event is expected to develop on Thursday and Friday as strong onshore winds return. A Coastal Flood Watch is likely for Thursday and Friday all along the Atlantic Coast and within the St. Johns River Basin. Locally heavy downpours and thunderstorms will be possible on Thursday and Friday near and along I-95 and the beaches.
Tropics: Tropical Storm Jerry is expected to intensify into a hurricane over the next few days. The storm will remain well offshore, but will send waves our way as it heads toward Bermuda.
