HAPPENING NOW: Light to moderate rain continues to move through Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida through sunset. For most, the rain will not be disruptive.

High Surf Advisory in effect through 5 p.m. Tuesday with large waves five to nine feet.

High Rip Current Risk through Tuesday.

Coastal Flood Warning now through Tuesday.

Expect roads to be closed, low lying property will be impacted and coastal erosion is highly likely with an additional 2 to 3 feet above normal dry ground.

SATURDAY EVENING FORECAST

Temperatures will drop into the mid to low 70s with partly to mostly cloudy skies with high humidity. Winds will remain breezy with occasional gusts through the evening for coastal counties and decrease for inland counties in the late evening.

Sunday and Monday heavy downpours of rain are expected.

North-Central Gulf: A weak low is located near the north and central Gulf. It will likely not have an impact on the peninsula. Rain and storms off the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama will occur. Development is not expected due to upper level wind shear. There is currently a zero percent chance of the low developing into a cyclone.

Tropical Atlantic: There is a broad area of low pressure, associated with a tropical wave that has formed several hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands. It could become a tropical depression by mid-week.
