Hurricanes Imelda, Humberto to Affect Local Surf Conditions

Strong northeasterly winds to impact beaches and coastal activities

Not as windy tonight under cloudy skies as showers remain possible overnight.

Rain amounts were light today, with most areas receiving less than 0.25 inch. Windy conditions will continue through the rest of the week.

Limited showers are expected on Wednesday, with scattered showers returning Thursday and rounds of rain expected on Friday.

Hurricane Imelda and Hurricane Humberto will send large waves our way, continuing the high risk of Rip Currents and High Surf. The Small Craft Advisory has been extended through Saturday evening. Minor Coastal Flooding will be possible through Friday.

Windy weather, especially along the beaches, as the northeasterly wind continues. The northeasterly wind will increase again this week with 20 mph sustained winds and gusts around 30 mph.

Tonight: Showers possible along our coastal counties.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with a strengthening northeasterly breeze. Rain chances 10-20 percent. Morning lows in the 60s to 70s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s to 80s. Wind NE 10-20 mph, gusts to 30 mph. Partly cloudy overnight.

Looking ahead: Windy weather continues with coastal and marine impacts as the chance of showers and thunderstorms returns through the weekend.

Tropics: Hurricane Humberto is a Category 1 and Imelda is now a Hurricane as they move away from the East Coast.
