Periods of sunshine, more rain in the Saturday forecast

Saturday Forecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fall temperatures are expected to return to the forecast on Saturday, with highs only reaching the mid-to-upper 80s under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Rainy conditions will start early in the day, moving from west to east throughout the afternoon. Gusty winds, heavy downpours, and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m. once the heat of the day settles in.

Rains today are associated with a stalled frontal boundary, as the tropical system in the Bahamas isn’t expected to reach Northeast Florida until Monday. We’re continuing to monitor the impacts closely.
