Richard's Swing Makeover Pt. 2: Softening the slats
Welcome back to 'This Old Swing'! Today, Chief Meteorologist Richard Nunn is working on the slats for his mother-in-law's nearly 100-year-old hand-forged swing. He chose New Zealand select pine for the seating surface. The boards are laser straight, and the edges are crisp... maybe a little too crisp. Richard is softening the edges with a trim router and a ¼-inch roundover bit. This will make the slats softer on the tushy and perfect for lazy days in the shade. Stay tuned for more...
