CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Clay County is launching a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) project to improve road safety and reduce or eliminate serious injuries and fatalities among pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

But to do that, it needs the community’s input.

Residents know their neighborhoods best and can help identify areas of concern that might not appear in traffic data alone, the county said.

Do you know an area where roadway safety can be improved? You can fill out an online survey and attend a community meeting on Monday to let the county know about it.

The meeting is from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Fleming Island Library.

About the Project

The Safe Streets for All (SS4A) initiative is part of a national program supported by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Clay County is developing a comprehensive safety action plan to:

  • Identify high-risk roadways and intersections
  • Recommend safety improvements for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists
  • Prioritize infrastructure and policy solutions that save lives

The county says the public’s voice is essential in shaping this plan and ensuring that the community benefits from safer, more accessible streets.
