The FBI has confirmed that the man who opened fire in a Michigan church and set it ablaze was motivated by “anti-religious beliefs” against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends of the man accused of killing four people after opening fire in a Michigan church say he long harbored animosity toward the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but never made any threats against its members.

Authorities in Michigan say search crews did not find any additional bodies inside a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel where a former Marine opened fire and set the building ablaze, killing four people.
