A man died Monday night after he was shot by nine officers following a tense and chaotic series of events that began at a boat ramp in Atlantic Beach, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

A 51-year-old man who had been threatening to harm himself fired at least one shot at officers and was hit when four officers returned fire Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

A road rage incident early Tuesday morning led to a police chase across Jacksonville that ended with an officer shooting the driver, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
