ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Flooding has been a reoccurring issue for many coastal areas due to strong northeasterly winds and extreme tides. Kayla Doucette, who lives in the Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine, got into a kayak Monday and floated down her road. A News4Jax crew had to leave the area quickly to avoid getting a vehicle stuck. “Always think twice and think of the what ifs.”Not far away, Logan Russom is an employee at the Bait Shack, located by the Vilano Bridge. “Over the last, like, three days it’s been very heavy winds and a little bit of rain,” he said.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A 64-year-old man accused of shooting a man in a St. Augustine park Tuesday was taken into custody about an hour after the gunfire. Police said officers called to Eddie Vickers Park on Riberia Street in St. Augustine's Lincolnville neighborhood about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday found a man on the ground with a gunshot wound. The victim, who has not been named, told police Eubanks shot him. The man, who was shot in the back, was then flown to Orange Park Medical Center.
