Five people were rescued Sunday afternoon after their boat caught fire in the Julington Creek and St. Johns River area.

The County Attorney’s Office for St. Johns County has submitted a draft e-bike ordinance to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office after a middle-school-aged boy was critically injured following an e-bike crash in Julington Creek Monday night.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There is a man going to homes in Julington Creek and Mandarin asking residents for personal information. Several people in the area have said the man approached their home at least once in the last few weeks. He told one household he was following up on a survey they never received and claimed some residents owe money. Neighbors didn’t realize how many others had been approached by the same man until seeing him on countless home surveillance images. One thing that stood out in all of the videos, was the way the man approached each household.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A Jacksonville man who fired a gun into a car filled with three people during a 2017 road rage incident in Julington Creek was sentenced Monday to 22 years in prison. Charles Michael Mohr, 24, was convicted of three counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. Prosecutors said that Mohr was involved in a road rage incident off Racetrack Road on Sept. 29, 2017. He pulled alongside the victims vehicle and began to confront them. As the victims attempted to leave, Mohr fired several shots from a 9mm handgun into their car, prosecutors said.
