The previous version of this story also stated incorrectly that Hakeem Robinson was charged with a second murder. An officer began pursuing Robinson after his vehicle was seen speeding and cutting off other vehicles, according to his arrest report. The elder Robinson, whoโs accused of helping his son evade authorities, has pleaded not guilty to accessory after the fact to a capital felony and is awaiting trial. His son has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in connection with McCormickโs death.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ The father of a Jacksonville man who is accused of murder has pleaded guilty to helping his son evade authorities following the deadly shooting, News4Jax has confirmed. Abdul Robinson pleaded guilty last month to being an accessory after the fact in connection with the daylight ambush murder of rapper Charles McCormick. Robinson is the father of Hakeem Robinson, one of the three men charged with the murder of McCormick. Abdul Robinson is scheduled for sentencing Jan. 28 while Hakeem Robinson, Barner and Whitaker are all awaiting trial.

The warrant obtained by News4Jax on Wednesday begins to unravel a tangled web of gang-related murders that has played out in Jacksonville over the past two years, all involving local hip-hop artists. Robinson is a well-known associate of Jacksonville rapper Yungeen Ace, whose real name is Kenyata Bullard. Man facing 2nd degree murder charges in 2 Jacksonville shootings
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Court records obtained Friday by News4Jax show a 26-year-old man is facing charges of second-degree murder in two unrelated deadly shootings. A police report from the Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office shows that Dominique Barner was arrested Aug. 13 on a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of a bicyclist on Emerson Street. A second police report obtained Friday confirms Barner is also facing a second-degree murder charge after a deadly shooting in Arlington at a shopping center on Merrill Road.
