A church in St. Johns County is raising money for a middle school student who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Flagler Estates on Friday morning.

Hastings, a rural area west of I-95 not far from the St. Johns River, was dealing with extreme flooding in some areas with water going chest-deep.

The remains of the missing Flagler Estates man have been recovered and identified following a two-year investigation, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

A 13-year-old girl who was shot by a pellet gun earlier this month has died, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to News4JAX on Tuesday.

A juvenile is said to have life-threatening injuries after being shot with a pellet gun, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

HASTINGS, Fla. – A 14-year-old returned home safely Thursday morning and was reunited with her family after she was reported missing Tuesday afternoon, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said. The girl’s mother said she began to worry when her daughter didn’t come home after she was dropped off from the school bus. The family had offered a $2,000 reward for information on her whereabouts. A spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office said the girl returned home Thursday.
