Dreams Come True hosted its 8th annual 5K event Saturday morning at the University of North Florida.

Runners, walkers and joggers gathered on the University of North Florida’s campus this Saturday morning to help local children battling serious illnesses.

The nonprofit Dreams Come True needs your help to make its 40th year the most magical year for local children battling life-threatening illnesses.

The merchants of Beaches Town Center are coming together at Hotel Palms on Thursday, October 20 at 6 pm to raise money for Dreams Come True. This 4th annual community event brings everyone together for a night of shopping, fashion, and fun! Come at 6 to shop the pop-ups, which include Jaffi’s, DRIFT, T-Dubs, Palmetto, Bali, The Locals Box and Couture Jems. Stay for the Fashion Show, which kicks off at 7:30p. Tickets are limited and all proceeds benefit Dreams Come True.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Dreams Come True is still running its annual 5K fundraiser -- but the nonprofit has made some changes in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. “This is a flexible, safe, option during these times, while still raising money for the dreams of local children,” Dreams Come True said. Once you register, you will receive a DCT5K mask, and Dreams Come True will donate a mask to one of its health care partners in your honor. Participants will have the chance to earn a 2020 DCT5K shirt by raising $150 or more through their fundraising page. But Dreams Come True highly encourages everyone to post/share pictures and more on social media during the official race period to help spread the word.

Josh Riberio, nicknamed Junior, and his father, Josh Riberio Sr., were excited to see the Jumbo Shrimp take on the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. It's -- I don't really have words for it," Josh Riberio said.
