JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fans will get a chance to see one small piece of the Stadium of the Future completed in time for the Jaguars’ next home game.

Grand Staircase One, the first piece of the Jaguars’ new stadium, will be open for Jacksonville’s “Monday Night Football” game against the Chiefs next week.

The team will cut the ribbon on the staircase on Friday morning. It’s the first of four Grand Staircases that will be in the new stadium. It’s located inside Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the stadium. The ribbon-cutting presentation is closed to the public.

Jacksonville’s rebuilt and refurbished venue, called the Stadium of the Future, was approved by the City Council in June 2024 and unanimously approved by NFL owners last October. Construction began on the massive project earlier this year. The initial price tag on the project is $1.4 billion, with $775 million of that put up by the city.

The Jaguars are playing as usual in EverBank Stadium this season, but will play here in 2026 in a reduced capacity. The team will relocate temporarily in 2027 as more significant stadium changes push the team out of town. The location hasn’t been announced but is expected to Orlando or Gainesville, with the latter a long shot.
