The ScienceSIS Foundation is making big strides this summer to get more girls excited about STEM. Erica Willie recently appeared on River City Live to share details about their latest programs, including a fun new partnership with the Jacksonville Public Library and London Loves to Read. Kids can read STEM-themed books and earn a Reading Buddy, combining literacy with science.
They’ve launched the “50 and 5” Math Challenge, designed to help girls score higher on Florida’s math exams by boosting confidence and skills in a supportive environment. Willie gave a quick preview of Galaxy Fest, the foundation’s free, city-wide science festival returning this fall with hands-on activities and science fun for all ages.
