St. Augustine – You are not having a déjà vu moment, Hoagie is returning. This is SAHS’s first time with a return performer. Hoagie has a foster but we want Hoagie to be placed in a forever home. Hoagie is such a cool guy and deserves a cool Forever Home. Hoagie is returning to help publicize our Pin up Paws Fundraising Campaign. The Pin up Paws Campaign is the St. Augustine Humane Society’s largest fundraiser of the year and covers a several month period. We are now in the calendar contest phase of the fund raiser. The fun begins when you submit your pet’s photo at www.pinuppaws.com, you then rally support for votes for your pet. Each vote is one dollar. The top 13 vote getters will receive a professional photoshoot and will be showcased in the 2026 calendar with the highest vote getter gracing the cover. There will be other events included as part of our fun fundraiser.
Hoagie is a senior guy which we estimate to be 9 years old.
Poor Hoagie sat at an animal shelter for several months before he was rescued from the shelter by the angels from Swamp Haven. Hoagie was Heartworm positive, had come down with pneumonia, wasn’t eating, and was losing weight. The staff at the shelter was doing its best, but Hoagie was not getting better. With the care from Swamp Haven and its group of rescuers, Hoagie is doing much better. Hoagie knows basic commands, loves to play with other dogs, especially puppies and small dogs, loves his toys, and generally plays well with others. The best forever home for Hoagie would probably be cat free.
