JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Cats and kittens of all ages need foster homes for a variety of reasons. The Jacksonville Humane Society is always in need of foster parents who can care for:
- Underage kittens
- Mother cats with kittens
- Kittens who need socialization
- Sick/injured cats and kittens
JHS provides all necessary supplies and veterinary care. You supply the space, the time, and – of course – the love!
Samantha Ahnen, community engagement manager for JHS, said the shelter takes in about 4,000 kittens a year.
“We are taking in hundreds of kittens every single week at the Jacksonville Humane Society,” Ahnen said. “You run out of names after a while. You start looking around the office. You name them Stapler. You name them Tape Dispenser.”
Instead, JHS wants you to get in on the fun of naming the shelter’s kittens.
For a donation of $5 or more, you can nominate a kitten name!
The Jacksonville Humane Society provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need while engaging the hearts, hands and minds of our community to bring about an end to the killing of abandoned and orphaned shelter animals.
