Recruiting youth into coin collecting

The Greater Jacksonville Coin Club is an organization with over 250 members dedicated to educating, preserving, and promoting numismatics and all facets of coin, currency, medal, and token collecting for the general public of North Florida.

GJCC is North Florida’s oldest and largest such organization. The club was formed in 1947, is incorporated in the state of Florida and has been designated as a 501(C)(3) Charitable and Educational Organization.

GJCC is a lifetime member of both the American Numismatic Association (ANA) and Florida United Numismatists (FUN). A library consisting of over 300 numismatics books and publications is maintained by the club and is available to its members.

The group is seeking an influx of youth to continue the tradition and hobby of coin collecting. This week’s youth subject features coins, magic and sleight of hand. They meet every 2nd Monday at Elks Lodge No. 221 at1855 West Rd. Young numismatists meet at 6:30pm, full club at 7pm www.gjcc.net
