Thieves steal thousands of dollars worth of equipment from youth athletic association on Jacksonville’s Eastside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On the Eastside of Jacksonville, the Henry Brown Athletic Association is the only sports outlet for youths.

Recently, someone broke into their storage container, food stand and lighthouse. They stole the majority of the association’s sports gear, most notably the football helmets and pads, and vandalized the food stand after stealing whatever food was stored there.

Now they are asking for help.

“We are struggling to replenish the necessary items so that our youth can have a great upcoming season” a GoFundMe account created on behalf of the HBAA youth athletic association, said.

Rance chatted with association president Tercel McKenzie about the situation hoping to raise awareness and funds to ensure the kids have a positive outlet for the upcoming season.
