JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it has arrested a man who is accused of firing his gun at an “afterparty” on Jacksonville’s Eastside that left four people injured.
JSO arrest reports reveal that Gregory Gardner, 29, was taken into police custody for discharging his firearm in public and exposing another person to personal injury following a gathering at 1002 A. Philip Randolph Boulevard around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

The incident began, according to JSO, when a group of teens threw a party after attending the Jacksonville Fair. During the party, there was a fight that broke out inside, but was broken up by security, which ended the party as people began being kicked out.
Then, once everyone was outside, the fight resumed, which escalated into shots being fired and people running away from the building where the party was held, witnesses told police.
Police said they spoke with the four victims at UF Health following the incident, and they all said they were not able to see who fired the shots, but described the fight as one that involved a “group of boys,” with one describing the incident as a “brawl.”
All victims were treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police added.
JSO also spoke with three men, including Gardner, who were all at the scene as security guards for the party.
While the interviews for the security guards are heavily redacted, the report states that, based on witness statements, officers had probable cause to place Gardner under arrest.
