JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Drivers in Jacksonville are being asked to prepare for multiple roadwork projects next week, including overnight ramp closures at the I-295 and U.S. 17 interchange and daytime lane closures on I-10.

As part of interchange improvements, ramp closures at I-295 and U.S. 17 are scheduled Sunday, Nov. 16, through Thursday, Nov. 20, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

Ramps will close nightly at 9 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. Not all ramps will close simultaneously, and no closures will cause conflicting detours to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Key ramp closures and detours include:

  • The I-295 northbound ramp to U.S. 17 will be closed. Drivers should continue north on I-295, exit at Blanding Boulevard, and use I-295 southbound to access U.S. 17.
  • The northbound U.S. 17 ramp to I-295 northbound will be closed. Drivers should continue north on U.S. 17, make a U-turn at Collins Road, and use southbound U.S. 17 to access I-295 northbound.
  • The northbound U.S. 17 ramp to I-295 southbound will be closed. Drivers should take northbound I-295 to Blanding Boulevard to access I-295 southbound.
  • The southbound U.S. 17 ramp to I-295 northbound will be closed. Drivers should continue south on U.S. 17, make a U-turn at Old Orange Park Road, and use northbound U.S. 17 to access I-295 northbound.
  • The I-295 southbound ramp to U.S. 17 will be closed. Drivers should continue on I-295 south across the Buckman Bridge, exit at San Jose Boulevard (State Road 13) north, and take I-295 north to access U.S. 17.
  • The southbound U.S. 17 ramp to I-295 southbound will be closed. Drivers should continue south on U.S. 17, make a U-turn at Old Orange Park Road, and use northbound U.S. 17 to access I-295 southbound.

In addition, as part of the I-10 resurfacing project from the Nassau County line to State Road 23 (First Coast Expressway), daytime single lane closures are planned on I-10 eastbound and westbound between the Duval County line and U.S. 301.

These closures will occur Monday, Nov. 17, through Sunday, Nov. 23, during non-peak travel times, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

Motorists are advised to use extra caution in the I-10 work zone and allow additional travel time.

Motorists are also advised to plan ahead and expect delays as these projects aim to improve traffic flow and safety on Jacksonville’s busy roadways.
