Super Girl Surf Festival returns to Jacksonville Beach this weekend with more than 2,000 women competing in 12 sports

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – The fifth annual Super Girl Surf Festival will return to Jacksonville Beach this weekend with more than 2,000 women competing in 12 sports.

The festival, presented by Jersey Mike’s, will also have a free concert series with 14 bands performing, including headliners The Band Perry, Plain White T’s, HIRIE and Julia Cole.

The best part? The event is completely free and open to the public!

Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:

Friday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Before the festival officially kicks off, the event is partnering with the World Surf League Rising Tides presented by Pura Vida program. It is a mentorship event that inspires the next generation of surfers by creating connections between young athletes and their surfing heroes both in and out of the water. Young women surfers will participate in team building and surfing lessons from seasoned pros.

Saturday, Nov. 8

The headlining event, a World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (WS) all women’s surfing contest begins. The surfing competition is held on the beach near the pier with the fields narrowed from 64 to 16.

The festival village opens at 11 a.m.

An all-female-led concert line-up presented by Natural Life is featured on the SeaWalk Pavilion stage and concludes with The Band Perry at 8:45 p.m.

This year, Super Girl is partnering with the Upshot League, a women’s basketball league which includes the Jacksonville Waves, for a 3 v 3 women’s basketball tournament and youth clinics.

Festival Village event highlights include a women’s inline and quads skating competition (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.), free classes presented by Florida Blue (11 a.m. - 5:45 pm) like line dancing lessons, Hip Hop HIIT, self-defense and more. The beer garden is open, and food trucks are onsite.

Sunday, Nov. 9

The WSL surf competition begins at 8:30 a.m. with a round of 16 near the pier. Semifinal rounds begin at approximately 1:30 p.m. At approximately 4 p.m., the podium finishers will be celebrated for their achievements, and the Super Girl Cape will be awarded.

10 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Female Cheerleading Showcase.

The festival village opens from noon until 4 p.m. It’s also Mom’s Day Out. Look for additional family-friendly activities as well as drink specials for mom. A full day of concerts presented by Natural Life concludes with a performance by The Plain White T’s at 7 p.m.

A women-focused 5k starts at 12:30 p.m. There is also a women’s skateboarding competition (12 – 5 p.m.), a panel discussion about the state of women’s basketball (12 - 12:45 p.m.), more sporting competitions and free classes presented by Florida Blue like Zumba, Hot Yoga and more (12 - 5:45 p.m.). The beer garden is open, and food trucks are onsite.
