Vote 2025: Northeast Florida & Southeast Georgia election results

Local elections and Georgia’s special elections held on Nov. 4, 2025

Florida and Georgia will have major races for governor and U.S. Senate coming up in 2026, but voters in southeast Georgia, as well as Florida voters in Alachua County, cast ballots Tuesday in a variety of races, with polling places open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Georgia, a statewide special election was held for two seats on the state’s Public Service Commission, following a legal battle that prevented the elections from being held last year as regularly scheduled. In addition to the statewide races, in Southeast Georgia, local elections were on the ballot today in Glynn, Ware, Charlton, Clinch, and Pierce Counties.

For races in Georgia with more than two candidates on the ballot, if nobody gets more than 50% of the votes, the top two vote-getters will advance to a runoff election on Dec. 2.

In Northeast Florida, most municipalities did not hold local elections today, except for two cities in Alachua County. Gainesville voters were asked to make a choice in a referendum regarding the future of the Gainesville Regional Utilities Authority. In High Springs, a city commission seat is on the ballot, along with four proposed charter amendments, and a proposed code amendment.
