St. Johns County devotes $200K to replenish food pantries, suspend utility disconnections through November

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – As the ongoing federal government shutdown continues to affect people’s paychecks and SNAP benefits, local communities are hurting.

The St. Johns County Commission wants to do what it can to help until the shutdown ends.

Commissioners voted at their meeting Tuesday night to spend $200,000 to replenish food pantries and suspend utility disconnections through November.
