COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman from Lake City died early Sunday morning after she was involved in a crash in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The woman, 29, was heading west on Interstate 10 around 4 a.m. Sunday, when “for reasons still under investigation,” she stopped in the inside westbound lane, just east of U.S. 441, troopers said.

According to FHP, a 36-year-old man driving an SUV wasn’t able to stop in time and hit the back of the woman’s sedan.
The impact sent her sedan into the oncoming lanes, and she died at the scene, FHP said.
The man suffered serious injuries, according to the report.
