JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – When the Sea and Sky Air Show returns to Jacksonville Beach on Saturday, the beloved U.S. Navy Blue Angels won’t be in the lineup.

The city announced Friday that the precision demo team will not perform at the event because of the ongoing government shutdown. The Viper Demo Team is also out, but the show added The Chuters, to the lineup of civilian performers.

“The Sea & Sky Air Show will bring families, neighbors, and visitors together to experience an unforgettable display of skill and teamwork,” said Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan. “We have an incredible show of award-winning civilian performers lined up, and we encourage everyone to come enjoy the 2025 Sea & Sky Air Show.”

Typically, hundreds of thousands of people show up to see the Blue Angels at local air shows. Vendors were concerned Friday that without the star act, the show would draw fewer visitors.

The event’s setup was already underway on Friday, with tents, fencing, and equipment being set up ahead of the show, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday and again on Sunday.

The streets are blocked off, loud music is playing, and food trucks and vendors are ready to go.

The free, family-friendly air show will feature Adam Baker, The Chuters, Mini Jet, Radial Rumble, Redline, and Titan Aerobatic Team, who will all perform thrilling aerobatic stunts and demonstrations showcasing skill, precision, and the power of aviation.

The Chuters is a veteran-owned and operated parachute team that provides precision aerial parachute demonstrations across the globe.

Alex Alston, Executive Director for the City of Jacksonville’s Office of Sports & Entertainment, joined The Morning Show on Friday to talk about what people can expect at this year’s Sea & Sky Air Show in Jacksonville Beach.

The event also includes a Military Recruitment Zone, presented by The Boeing Company; VIP Experience, presented by VyStar Credit Union, with advance tickets available for purchase; and Kids Zone, including Mayor Deegan’s River City Reader Bookmobile.

“I want to thank the City of Jacksonville for working so hard with us to bring the Sea & Sky Show back to Jacksonville Beach,” said Jacksonville Beach Mayor Chris Hoffman. “This is a big day for all of us. We can’t wait to show off our community and enjoy the show.”

A Jacksonville Beach resident said even without the Blue Angels, he hopes people will still attend.

“I hope that people still wanna come out and experience the beach,” Nancy Phillips said.
