ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The city of St. Augustine has been actively working to find resolutions to the pressing traffic issues that the Nights of Lights celebration brings during the holiday season.
With the event a month away, the city announced the expansion of the free park-and-ride shuttle operations to accommodate the large crowds expected to flood downtown St. Augustine.

St. Johns County commissioners approved an additional $850,000 for the holiday event to use to address safety, parking and public restrooms. A part of that funding request was $200,000 for shuttle services.
Starting Saturday, Nov. 15, through Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, shuttles will operate from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and weekends, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

However, the shuttle will begin operations at 8 a.m. on Dec. 6 to accommodate crowds for the Christmas parade.
The main shuttle will begin operations on Light-Up! Night, which is opening night, from parking locations outside of the downtown Historic District:
- St. Johns County Health Department, 200 San Sebastian View
- Broudy’s Lot (corner of US 1 and W. King), 198 W. King St.
- San Marco Lot, 301 San Marco Ave
Passengers will be dropped off and picked up in the north drive-thru lane trolley entrance at the Visitor Information Center,10 S. Castillo Drive.
There will also be a special shuttle service on Saturday, Nov. 15, which will include round-trip service along Anastasia Boulevard from 4 to 11 p.m.
Passengers will be picked up from the following locations:
- Anastasia Baptist Church, 1650 A1A South
- R.B. Hunt Elementary, 125 Magnolia Dr.
Passengers will be dropped off and picked up near the east end of the Bridge of Lions, at the corner of Gerado St. and Flagler Blvd. in North Davis Shores.
