JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fresh off a Monday night victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Jacksonville Jaguars made a splash in the trade market on Tuesday night to revamp their cornerback room.

According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, the Jags are sending former second-round pick Tyson Campbell to Cleveland in exchange for former first-round pick Greg Newsome II.

The trade also sees Jacksonville receiving a sixth-round pick from the Browns and sending a seventh-round pick back to Cleveland.

“The trade partners from the night of the 2025 draft now pull off another mid-season deal‚” Schefter said, referencing the blockbuster move that allowed the Jags to select Travis Hunter with the second overall pick of this year’s draft.

Campbell, who had spent his entire career in Jacksonville up until this point, signed a four-year, $76.5 million extension in July 2024. The contract marked the fourth biggest in Jaguars history at the time, ranking behind the Trevor Lawrence, Josh-Hines Allen, and Nick Foles deals.

The 25-year-old former Georgia Bulldogs time with the Jags comes to an end in his fifth season. During his Jacksonville tenure, Campbell accrued 209 solo tackles, six interceptions, and three forced fumbles.

Newsome, who was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft (same draft Campbell was selected in) out of Northwestern University, has spent his entire career with the Browns. Throughout his career, he has compiled 140 solo tackles, three interceptions (one for a touchdown), and one sack through 59 games played.
