PALATKA, Fla. – The City of Palatka Commission approved on Tuesday a rollback millage rate for the upcoming fiscal year.

Officials said the rollback rate represents the rate at which the City will collect the same amount of property tax revenue as the previous year, excluding the value of new construction.

By adopting this lower rate, the City Commission said it ensured that property owners in Palatka will not see an increase in their ad valorem tax bills.

The City said it will continue to prioritize public safety, infrastructure maintenance, recreation, and community services while working within the framework of the reduced tax rate. Staff will continue to identify efficiencies and explore opportunities for cost savings to ensure that the community’s needs are met responsibly.

“The Commission’s action underscores its dedication to transparent governance and fiscal responsibility. By choosing the rollback rate, the City demonstrates its focus on prudent financial management and its long-term commitment to serving the residents of Palatka,” the city wrote in a news release.
