ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – St. Augustine officials launched a search Sunday evening for a missing person following a reported crash near the Bridge of Lions.
Officials responded around 8:50 p.m., after receiving a call about a watercraft crashing into a buoy, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

The search prompted the temporary closure of The Bridge of Lions. By 10:25 p.m., the St. Augustine Police Department announced that the bridge had reopened to traffic.
The search for the operator remains ongoing.
