Boat capsizes near the St. Augustine Inlet on Memorial Day

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Multiple people were rescued after a boat capsized near the St. Augustine Inlet Monday afternoon, according to the St. Augustine Fire Department.
Crews from St. Augustine Police Department, St. Johns County Fire Rescue, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard Southeast, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to the capsized boat at 2 p.m.
Crews safely pulled the people out of the water. The fire department did not specify how many people were on the boat.
Fortunately, no injuries or pollution were reported. Officials said the boaters were wearing life vests.
The cause of the boat’s capsizing is under investigation.
