JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville’s newest music venue is opening later than expected, according to the venue’s management company.

FIVE, located at the site of the former Sun-Ray Cinema at 1028 Park St. in Jacksonville’s Five Points neighborhood, was originally set to open in January 2025. However, as of April 7, the venue has not opened yet.

Due to the delay, at least 17 shows have been postponed, canceled, rescheduled and/or moved to new venues in the area. The changes in plans have caused headaches for fans who wanted to see their favorite artists in the brand-new venue.

News4JAX reached out to Marathon Live, the management company of FIVE, regarding the delay in the opening of the new venue. Jeremy Hicks, the communications director of Marathon Live, said “due to construction and permit delays, our opening has been pushed back, however, we will have an official opening date to announce very soon.”

According to News4JAX news partners, the Jacksonville Daily Record, the venue was issued a permit for the $1.4 million renovation of the building Feb. 28.

When the venue opens, it will add a much-needed jolt to the Five Points entertainment district, which saw the recent closure of Rain Dogs, Alewife Bottleshop and Tasting Room, and Neon Moon.
