JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 27-year-old man wanted on an armed robbery charge was arrested Wednesday after a clerk recognized him at a Southside Estates business and immediately called the police.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had previous visits to the Value Pawn on Beach Boulevard, where officers told the clerk that they had issued a warrant for Jadarius Williams, who would frequent the store to pawn items.

They advised the clerk to call JSO if Williams ever returned.

Around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the clerk noticed Williams from previous encounters and called JSO.

When the officers arrived, JSO said they saw Williams run toward an alley behind the business and get on a bicycle.

According to JSO, an officer bumped the bike with his car and knocked Williams down.

Williams began running when another officer hit him with their vehicle, JSO said.

Williams continued to run away from the officers, dashing into a culvert (a large tunnel or pipe that lets water flow under a road), JSO said.

The officers chased Williams and eventually, he was taken into custody.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

JSO said Williams was also connected to several burglaries in the area.
