Officials said they responded to the house fire on Knoll Drive North at around 6:30 p.m.
JFRD Capt. Eric Prosswimmer said there was a lot of fire blowing out the front of the house and the fire started blowing in the back of the house.
He also said there was “some kind of propane tank” or something that started blowing as well.
Crews did find a victim in the house and they had to take him out through a window.
“Both sides of the house, one side was really, really tight to get him out, and the other one had heavy fire going,” Prosswimmer said.
The two firefighters who saved the man in the home were injured in the process and were transported to the hospital.
He added that when crews arrived at the scene, there was another resident who was injured and both were transported to the hospital. One is in critical condition.
Prosswimmer said a dog who belonged to the man died in the fire.
The Bureau of Fire, Arson & Explosives Investigations is determining the cause of the fire.
This fire is the latest in a string of fires that happened on Sunday.
