For the past 2 and a half years, in a collaborative effort between News4JAX and local Hyundai dealerships, we all came together to honor the exceptional achievements of local heroes in the Hyundai Hometown Heroes contest by awarding them with a brand new vehicle. In September, Orange Park High School teacher, Christine Howell was named the winner in the Educator category. While earlier this year, Army sergeant Christopher Carre drove home with a new Tucson when he won the Active Military category. Now, it is time we recognize the Veterans who have served our country and our community with honor and distinction.
