Near record highs before the rain chances increase

The sea breezes set the stage for showers as temperatures soar

It’s a great day to be in St. Augustine. I had an amazing opportunity to explore the St. Augustine Lighthouse after dark. We’ll share part of the adventure tonight while we are at Flagler College.

The sea breeze is on the move, pushing across our coastal counties. Showers will be possible as the Atlantic breeze collides with the Gulf breeze. These will mainly develop west of the River to Highway 301. In the Tropics, Hurricane Gabrielle has weakened to a Category 2 as we monitor two other areas of interest with increasing chances for development tonight and this weekend.

Near record highs continue through Friday with an increasing chance of showers and storms as a cold front slides south through Saturday. The onshore wind returns Sunday through the start of the week.

Morning lows in the 60s to 70s. Afternoon highs in the 80s to low 90s. Feels Like temperatures around 99 - 105 degrees. Patchy to dense fog overnight.

Looking ahead: Increasing rain chances Friday and Saturday with partly cloudy skies and less shower activity on Sunday.

Tropics: Tropical Storm Gabrielle is a Category 2. Hurricane models continue to show the development of Invest 93 with Invest 94 developing near the Bahamas.
