- Invest 92 in the Central Tropical Atlantic has become better organized. The showers and thunderstorms associated with the area of low pressure, located about midway between the Windward Islands and the coast of Africa, has become better organized since yesterday.
The GFS and the EURO continue to show the development of this system, while the spaghetti models support a slow right-hand turn into the Atlantic.
Environmental conditions will favor additional development and a tropical depression or storm is likely to form in the next day or two as the system moves west-northwestward or northwestward at 10 to 15 mph.
The formation chance through 48 hours is now 90 percent as is the formation chance through 7 days.
- Invest 92 has a neighbor. A tropical wave emerging off the west coast of Africa is producing an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
This is the spot that we have been showing in addition to Invest 92. The GFS is still stronger with this system, but the Euro is starting to show possible development as well.
Slow development of this system is possible towards the mid to latter part of this week as it moves westward at 15 to 20 mph.
The formation chance through 48 hours is 0 percent and the formation chance through 7 days is 20 percent.
