Increasing chances of tropical development in the deep Atlantic.

A tropical wave located over the eastern tropical Atlantic, a few hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

Conditions for additional development of this system during the next several days could allow a tropical depression to form later this week or weekend.

This system is expected to move westward to west-northwestward at around 15 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic into early next week.

Where is it going? There has not been much model consistency from one run to the next, once the system nears the northern Caribbean. The models, GFS and Euro, continue to differ in the path after Monday, September 8. Due to the inconsistencies, keep an eye on this developing low.

GFS & Euro (.)

The formation chance through 48 hours is 40 percent and the formation chance through 7 days is 80 percent.
