Showers with isolated storms possible overnight. Scattered showers with storms will be possible early, along our coastal zones, then developing inland through the day of Saturday.
Temperatures will be cooler than normal under the cloudy skies. Usually, we are in the low 90s at this time of year, although record temperatures have approached 100 degrees. Our afternoon highs will reach the 80s.
The boundary between rain and locally heavy storms will be the stationary front. The front will stall across northeast Florida before lifting northward on Sunday. North of the front, it will be a bit more stable with periodic rain and isolated storms.
South of the front, an unsettled and buoyant air mass will produce stronger storms and the potential for heavier rainfall.
The chance of rain will start early and persist overnight. The lowest likelihood will be in the morning, with chances increasing into the afternoon and early evening.
The wet pattern and steady onshore flow will continue through Labor Day.
Tonight: Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms through early evening. Showers remain possible overnight.
