Rounds of rain through Labor Day weekend

Update: A Flood Advisoy has been issued for Flagler County through 1:15 a.m.

The Flood Advisory for Putnam County will expire at 11:45 p.m.

Radar estimates of 2 to nearly 5 inches of rain have fallen in areas around Pomona Park to Crescent City. This will continue through around 1 a.m. before slowly ending over Flagler County.

Showers will be possible overnight and early Friday.

This pattern will continue through Labor Day weekend.

Locally heavy rain, gusty wind, small hail and spin-up tornadoes will be possible with strong to severe storms. Models continue to show the best potential and coverage of rain will be during the afternoon and early evening.

The heaviest and most frequent rain will be along our beaches and I-95 corridor. Lighter rainfall totals with a less overall coverage is expected west of the St. Johns River to I-75.

The wet pattern and strong onshore flow will linger through the start of the week.

Tonight: Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms through early evening. Showers will be possible overnight.

Friday: Partly cloudy skies will start the day before becoming cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Rain chances will average 60-70 percent. Lows in the 60s to 70s. Afternoon highs will be in the 80s. Wind: Northeast at 5-15 mph. Showers possible overnight under mostly cloudy skies.

Weekend: Increasing rain chances as the northeasterly winds increase. The pattern will be similar to what we saw last weekend with rounds of rain expected through Monday.
