Areas of light rain and thunderstorms continue to weaken across St. Johns and Duval counties. A stronger thunderstorm in southern Putnam County will slowly weaken after 10 p.m.
We set another record today. The high was 101 degrees! The record high temperature for Jacksonville today is 100 degrees, set in 1875. The record for Wednesday is 102 degrees, set in 2010.
Gainesville, FL set another record today also with a high of 100 degrees. The former record was 99 in 1896.
In southeast Georgia, Alma tied a previous record of 99 degrees which was set in 2016.
Near record highs will continue through the week with temperatures near 100 degrees.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible through Friday.
