SUNDAY’S FORECAST

Sunday a record was tied for the hottest temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit at the Jacksonville International Airport.

A heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. Though Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida are accustomed to the hotter weather, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and dehydration are highly likely.

Staying indoors during the advisory with air conditioning is encouraged. If you must be outdoors, stay hydrated and take multiple breaks in the shade while wearing light colored and lightweight clothing.

Winds will continue from the southeast and south through midnight until winds begin to shift from the west. Temperatures will drop into the upper 80s by midnight. Clouds will remain mostly clear with no rain chances.

Monday temperatures will begin in the low 80s and upper 70s. Rain chances remain at 20 percent but will bring little to no relief for a cooling in the afternoon. Isolated storms will occur.
