Breezy and dry along the beaches, Light to moderate areas moves west

Breezy and dry along our beaches as showers fade over southeast Georgia.

In northeast Florida, areas of light to moderate rain continue in the swirl around the area of low pressure. These will move west, toward the Gulf, through late tonight.

All Flood Watches have expired locally.

Formation chances remain possible with models hinting at development near Louisiana or Mississippi as the low travels through the northern Gulf.

The onshore pattern continues through the rest of the week as the Atlantic sea breeze pushes inland through the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will develop near the St. Johns River, around 1 - 2 p.m. These will move westward with the prevailing breeze and weaken after sunset.

Tonight: Dry and breezy beachside, isolated showers and areas of rain move west through the night.

Wednesday: Breezy under partly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms after 1-2 p.m. Rain chances are 40-60 percent. Morning lows will be in the 70s. Afternoon highs will reach the 90s inland with upper 80s to low 90s along our beaches. Wind SSE 10-20 mph.

Thursday - Friday: Showers and thunderstorms will move inland with the shifting Atlantic breeze. Skies will become cloudy with showers and storms developing during the afternoon and lingering through sunset.

Tropics: Invest 93: Satellite and radar data indicate that the low pressure area is moving onto the coast of northeastern Florida. This system is currently producing disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity, and little development is expected through tonight while the center is over land.

As the system reaches the northeastern Gulf on Wednesday, environmental conditions appear generally favorable for additional development, and a tropical depression could form while the system moves across the northeastern and north-central Gulf and approaches the coast of Louisiana on Thursday.Formation chance through 48 hours is 40 percent and the formation chance through 7 days is 40 percent.
